On sunday, December 13th, Tarik Sultan came to Inner Spirit to teach dance students how to dance with a cane. He was very informative on the history and social aspect of Egyptian dance and taught us a fun choreography to practice with our canes!

Meditation with Mitesh

On December 6th we Inner Spirit held a Meditation workshop with Mitesh! The workshop taught students different ways to meditate and helped them to find a meditation practice that worked for them. We are looking forward to bringing this workshop back in the future!

Inner Spirit Yoga Nature Walk!

Inner Spirit organized its first retreat on October 18th. The trip was a bus ride to New Paltz where we took a hike among the beautiful nature of upstate. In the middle of our walk, we rolled out our yoga mats for a yoga practice and meditation in front of a waterfall. There's nothing like practicing yoga among the beautiful atmosphere of Mother Nature.

After the hike we had a delicious dinner with fresh food.

The trip was a lot of fun and we want to thank everyone who joined us for it! We're looking forward to the next trip and hope to see you there!

Inspirational Movie Night!

2nd Annual Pirate Festival!

September 19th & 20th at Bald Hill in Farmingville

Inner Spirit worked in conjunction with the pirates this year to create a mini dance festival within the Pirate Festival. We had performances and lessons from all different kinds of dance styles like modern, Middle Eastern, Malaysian, Nia Dance and Zumba. Performers and teachers came from the city and all over Long Island to join us.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped us! We hope to be even bigger next year!

East Northport Festival!

Inner Spirit is participated again this year in the East Northport festival on
September 12th & 13th.

Though we were rained out on Saturday, Sunday was a blast! There were performances on the grass by our tent as well as lessons and even a performance in the street by our very own Inner Spirit Dance Company!

Tuesdays in Northport

Tuesday, August 4th at 7pm
On Main St in Northport

On Tuesday, August 4th The Inner Spirit Dance Company participated in the Northport Art Coalition's Tuesdays in Northport. We gave a bellydance lesson at 7pm and then performed for everyone at 9pm by Skippers.

We were happy to help support our community and we hope everyone liked the show!

Arts in the Park!

On Saturday, July 25th, Inner Spirit students and the Inner Spirit Dance Company performed for the Northport Arts Coalition's Arts in the Park. It is an event that we look forward to every year since it gives us an opportunity to support our community.

It was a beautiful day and we were glad to hear that the performance was well received!

Huntington Fall Festival

On Saturday, October 11th & Sunday October 12th Inner Spirit was at the Huntington Fall Festival on Main Street in Huntington. It was a lovely weekend with a great turnout. We had a lot of fun and even made some new friends with some creative performers!

Long Island Fair

On Saturday, September 27th & Sunday September 28th Inner Spirit attended the Long Island Fair at the Old Bethpage Restoration Village in Old Bethpage. It was a rainy weekend but we didn't let that stop us. We had a henna booth among the craft vendors and entertained those brave enough to come out in the rain with some performances. It was a lot of fun and we hope to have a sunny turnout next year!

Middle Eastern Night at Northport Library

On Wednesday, September 10th the Northport LibraryInner Spirit was whisked away to the Middle East. The audience was educated about the history and different styles of bellydance while being shown examples by the Inner Spirit Dance Troupe.

It was a lot of fun and a good night. We hope to do it again in the future!

East Northport Fall Festival

Sadly we were rained out on Saturday, but on Sunday, September 7th, Inner Spirit attended the East Northport Fall Festival on Larkfield Road. We taught bellydance classes, did yoga and yoga sculpture and our very own Dance Troupe performed! It was a lot of fun and we thank you all who stopped by to see us!

Mid Summer Night's Arts @ Suffolk Y JCC

On Wednesday, July 30th, the Suffolk Y JCC held their 2nd Annual Mid Summer Night's Arts program. It was a big production with an Art Exhibition, Poetry Readings, Music and our very own Inner Spirit Dance Company!

Huntington Columns

On Friday, June 20th Inner Spirit's Roni Yaari performed in Fair Meadow Park for the new "Huntington Columns" exhibit.

The exhibit was created to make an ecological statement through art. The columns were built entirely out of bamboo, jute rope and use only solar lighting.

Long Island Pirate Festival!

On Saturday June 14th & Sunday June 15th Inner Spirit performed at the first ever Long Island Pirate Festival hosted at the Long Island Maritime Museum in Sayville! It was a lot of fun and we can't wait to do it again next year. We're already planning on doing something bigger and better so we hope to see you there!

Art in the Park

On Sunday June 8th Inner Spirit performed in Northport Park. This was not our first time performing there but it is always a lot of fun performing by the harbor. We hope the heat wasn't too much for those that came to support us.

Inner Spirit Hafla

Every year Inner Spirit has a Hafla, a Middle Eastern party, where the whole school is welcome to perform. This year we had a wonderful variety of performances from all of our talented students and we can't wait for next year.
